Using the Configuration Hub - SailPoint Identity Services

The SailPoint Configuration Hub supports management of configuration objects in your SailPoint Identity Security Cloud tenant through backup and deploy operations. For example, you can back up configurations like Sources and Identity Profiles defined for your business, restore them in the event of configuration errors or loss, or migrate and deploy them to your other tenants.

This is the companion discussion topic for the documentation at https://documentation.sailpoint.com/saas/help/confighub/config_hub.html

Documentation Feedback:

  1. Promoting a Backup - it is not explicitly stated that you need to be in the Config Hub of the tenant that you wish to promote TO, instead of promote FROM. To Promote a Backup from Sandbox to Production, you need to be in the Production Config Hub. For “restoring a backup” that makes sense, but for “promoting configuration” it feels backwards.

  2. Mapping Objects - Please include a list of objects that can be mapped. We noticed that $.description and $.cluster.id and $.cluster.name could not be mapped.

Hi Sherry! Thank you for your input. We’ve created a Jira issue to track the effort and we’ll update the comment thread when it’s been addressed: https://sailpoint.atlassian.net/browse/SAASDOCS-7642

Sherry, I just wanted to let you know that I am working with Engineering on this now. Thanks so much for your patience!

2 posts were split to a new topic: Additional Cloud Storage Providers for Config Hub

Hello @sherry_chang.
I sincerely apologize that this took so long to update, but the Config Hub documentation has been updated.
I will say, the list of Mapping Objects is not there due to there being so many objects. Engineering decided not to include them.
But you will find the Promoting a Backup section has more info as well as the Uploading a Configuration File section.
Thank you so much for your patience!! Have a great day!
