Using clustered indexes with SQL Server

Hello Experts,

We are facing some performance issue in our Sailpoint Database.
We have executed following performance test, but values returned are over the recommended:

IdentityIQ Database Performance Tests - Compass (sailpoint.com)

From other side, Database team have suggested using clustered indexes.
Checking Compass I have seen that using clustered indexes could be a solution to improve the performance

SQL Server Database Recommendations
SailPoint has no performance specific recommendations for SQL Server Database servers.There are Discussion Forum / KB articles that are debating the benefits of using clustered indexes with SQL Server. As of the time of writing, SailPoint has not measured these various configuration permutations to see if they provide any performance advantages.

For all that, I would like to know if other customer partners have faced any issues with this configuration. Also, any best practices are very welcome
