ServiceDesk Catalog Integration - passing requestor's comments along to secondary REQ created by SDIM

We have a catalog with a mix of access-profiles that can be auto-provisioned or ticket fulfillment. When a request is made for an entitlement on a source that has been configured to leverage SDIM ticketing, we need to retrieve the comments a requestor optionally entered and pass that along to SDIM for visibility by the analyst performing manual provisioning. Any advice on grabbing those comments? Are they in the plan?

Seems like I should be able to send $!request.requesterComment.comment to SDIM, but that doesnt seem to work
