Salesforce : Duplicate Username Error

Hi everyone,

We are currently testing the account creation process on a Salesforce connector, but keep getting the following error message, despite using freshly created identities and/or using random strings as “Username”.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?

Duplicate Username.
The username already exists in this or another Salesforce organization. Usernames must be unique across all Salesforce organizations. To resolve, use a different username (it doesn’t need to match the user’s email address).

Thank you.

Hi @Augjm,

There is a chance that, account might created already for that user and may be uncorrelated. Check that.

If not, same username might have been used by some other organization in salesforce. It is recommended to use email address as username to have uniquenss.

SalesForce is a bit unique also in that if I recall correctly from a previous client, you can only have 1 profile (an entitlement) assigned to a user and trying to assign additional profiles will throw an error. I don’t recall the specific error returned, but do recall it being a challenge.

Even between environments user name should be unique so we add an environment qualifier like ‘qa’ ‘dev’ like wise…
