SailPoint ISC Postman Setup Error

Hi,

I’m trying to setup postman and keep getting the error.
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘json’)

I added console logs and it doesn’t seem to be able to read my tenant collection.
I have double checked the spelling and can confirm everything is selected properly in the Environments.

Any advice?

Hey @aaron11 ,

Step 1 fork the collections along with environment

Postman Collections | SailPoint Developer Community Postman Collections | SailPoint Developer Community

Step 2 update environment variable as shown in the image with PAT created by navigation to profile, preference of ISC

Step 3 if you’re configuring postman set-up for demo tenant update -demo in domain of whatever collection folder :file_folder: you just forked
Hit any get api that’s all you’re good to goo

Let me know if you need any further assistance

Thanks in advance

  1. Fork identity security cloud V2025 API from postman.
  2. Configure environment variables

to help step-2 client id and secret.
    Generate Client ID and Secret
. As an administrator in IdentityNow, go to Admin > Global > Security Settings > API Management.
This is the API Management page where IdentityNow administrators can manage the Client IDs which have been
issued to the tenant. On this page you can see existing Client IDs, delete any existing Client ID, as well as
    generate new Client IDs.
Click +New to generate a new Client ID and Secret.
A popup will appear, prompting for a description of how the key will be used. Enter “IdentityNow Training” or
some other phrase and click Create.
Next, a Client ID and Client Secret will be shown to you. You will want to copy or write this down for use later in
    the exercise.
Important! This is the only time a Client Secret will be shown to you, so please take note of both values. If you
don’t, you’ll need to repeat these steps!

Feel free to reach out to me—I’d be happy to help resolve your issue.

Hi @aaron11 ,

You can fork Postman collection for Sailpoint ISC from here –> Postman Collections | SailPoint Developer Community

Then configure baseUrl, tenant, domain, clientId, clientSecret.

Usually, domain is “identitynow“ for organizations and “identitynow-demo“ for developer tenants.

Hi @aaron11 ,

In my case I mostly fork APIs with the link what @mandarsane has shared and generate global token instead of PAT as explained by @narayanag .

Feel free to reach out if you still face issues with the same.

Hi @aaron11

This issue is because of your incorrect base URL. If you can check postman console logs it seems to be https://tenant-name.api.identitynow.com/oauth/token instead of https://tenant-name.api.identitynow-demo.com/oauth/token to fix this Click on collection–>Variables and check domain value if you are connecting idn demo tenant then it should be identitynow-demo.
