SailPoint Harbor Pilot: Reimagining Identity Security

AI agents, Agentic AI, or AI workforce — all these buzzwords roll off the tongues of tech enthusiasts like finance bros discussing subprime mortgages in the early 2000s. It is nearly impossible for customers to tell what is hype versus truly meaningful advancement. In a landscape saturated with AI claims, it’s easy for the true innovators to get lost in the noise. Business leaders, especially in the critical realm of cybersecurity, need more than just promises; they need tangible solutions that address complex, real-world challenges.

At SailPoint, we’ve always been committed to cutting through the hype and delivering real value. In April 2025, we launched Harbor Pilot, SailPoint’s set of AI agents for Identity Security Cloud (ISC). The response has been phenomenal. As of today, half of our customers are actively using Harbor Pilot to enhance their identity security posture through our agents. This rapid adoption isn’t just a testament to the power of AI; it’s a reflection of our deep understanding of customer needs and our commitment to delivering practical, impactful solutions.

The Future: A Workforce Multiplier, Deeply Integrated and Extensible

The launch of Harbor Pilot is just the beginning; We envision a future where AI agents are indispensable partners to security teams, augmenting their capabilities and enabling them to manage identity security at scale. This is how we are truly reimagining Identity Security and making its most advanced capabilities accessible to more organizations.

Workforce multiplier for Security teams

Harbor Pilot is a workforce multiplier that helps our customers tackle larger and more significant identity security challenges facing their organizations, turning theory into reality. The cybersecurity skills gap is a persistent challenge, and Harbor Pilot is designed to address this head-on, making security attainable. Harbor Pilot will forever change the power of security teams, taking a team of five’s output and accelerating their ability to scale like never before. Envision an AI agent capable of independently identifying security vulnerabilities, reporting them, creating a remediation plan to address the issues, and establishing policies enforceable via workflows to prevent such risks from occurring again. This isn’t science fiction; it’s where we’re heading. By taking on the heavy lifting, Harbor Pilot allows human experts to focus their talents on strategic decision-making, threat hunting, and policy development, irrespective of their team’s size.

It was able to build a complex workflow accurately in minutes that would have taken hours to build manually.

AI agent-first mindset

As we develop new capabilities for ISC, an “AI agent first” mindset is taking front and center. This means designing features with the assumption that an intelligent agent will be a core component, actively assisting the user or automating processes. This approach will lead to more intuitive, proactive, and powerful identity security solutions. Future features will include predictive analytics for identifying emerging identity-related risks or AI-powered agents that can guide users through complex security tasks using natural language.

Atlas For Agents

We recognize that every organization has unique identity security challenges and workflows. While Harbor Pilot will provide a powerful suite of out-of-the-box AI agents, we will continue to open up our AI segment of the Atlas platform, allowing customers and partners to build and integrate their own specialized agents. Empowering organizations to customize our AI capabilities through bleeding edge tech to meet their specific needs.

Deeper Integrations

Harbor Pilot isn’t a standalone gimmick; it’s becoming an intelligent fabric woven throughout SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. We are embedding AI capabilities into every facet of identity security, from access requests and provisioning to compliance controls and observability & insights. This deep integration means that intelligence is delivered contextually, right where users need it, making the entire identity security lifecycle smarter and more efficient.

Looks like a powerful advancement in identity automation—especially for streamlining repetitive tasks and accelerating complex processes that typically require senior developer input.

Charting the Course Together

The era of AI in identity security is no longer on the horizon; it’s here. Harbor Pilot represents SailPoint’s commitment to leading this transformation, not with empty promises and fancy UI mockups, but with a powerful, practical, and transparent AI solution that delivers real results.

We are excited by the journey ahead and the potential to further reimagine identity security in partnership with our customers. By staying true to their needs, prioritizing trust and transparency, and relentlessly executing on our vision, we believe Harbor Pilot will become an indispensable asset for every organization serious about securing all forms of its identities. The future of identity security is intelligent, automated, and adaptive – and with Harbor Pilot, SailPoint is charting the course.

:double_exclamation_mark: What would you like Harbor Pilot to do next?

Is there a page with some great real world examples of how customers are leveraging Harbor Pilot?

I’ve used it a few times to try and query Identity data and the answers it’s provided were either incorrect, or it might not work unless I get the name of an attribute 100% correct, including being case-sensitive

Would love to see an official MCP Server from SailPoint for broader integrations.

Is this being rolled out to all tenants?

Hey @Mike_Trachta!

Let me look into seeing what we can do here.

I’ve used it a few times to try and query Identity data and the answers it’s provided were either incorrect, or it might not work unless I get the name of an attribute 100% correct, including being case-sensitive

The good news is that we are actively working on improving our Analytics Agents, and also adding new feature capabilities to it. With the goal of fixing the exact issues you are running into.

@adunker be careful what you wish for  !!

Hi Jason, the team is working on rolling this out to all regions as we speak. Stay tuned for updates regarding regional availability.

With regards to which customers are eligible… Identity Security Cloud customers all get some form of Harbor Pilot’s Agents.

I see this question. I recommend everyone to go to the idea portal and search for “Harbor Pilot”. Here you can see all the current ideas referring Harbor Pilot, vote for the ones you agree with and add new ideas you might have if they are not visible there. https://ideas.sailpoint.com/ideas/search?query=Harbor+Pilot

I just started with a blank ISC tenant, enabled Harbor Pilot and then asked the following.

Harbor Pilot both agrees that showing the secret in plain text during initial creation in the Identity Security Cloud UI is not considered best practice, however it still recommends it nonetheless.

Corresponding idea to have SailPoint not showing secrets in plain-text: https://ideas.sailpoint.com/ideas/GOV-I-3447
