Password Reset Function

Hi SailPoint team,

Please refer to below points which we have received from internal stakeholders related to Password Reset function in SailPoint.

  1. Direct Deep-Linking to Specific Account Password Reset
    1. Request: Allow expiry notification email links to route users directly to the password reset page for the specific account/domain requiring attention, bypassing the global landing page.
    2. Current Limitation: ISC currently routes all users through the standard multi-account landing page. Direct deep-linking per specific account/domain is not natively supported
  2. Dynamic Field Selection in Notifications: “Application Name” vs “Source Name”
    1. Request: Provide an option to display the configured Application Name rather than the underlying Source Name in the automated password expiry notifications
    2. Current Limitation: Notifications default to Source Name. Renaming source names directly in ISC is not viable as it causes identity mapping errors.

Hi Ravinath. Both points look like enhancement requests rather than current Password Management configuration options.

For the reset flow, SailPoint documents tenant-level reset URLs with parameters such as username and returnToLogin, but I do not see a documented option to target a specific source/account directly. Advanced Password Management Options

For the notification, the Password Expiration template exposes its documented template attributes plus Version 1 globals, but I do not see a separate variable for a friendly per-application name. Password Expiration Email Template

So both appear to need product enhancements. If you have not already submitted them in the SailPoint Ideas Portal, I would submit them there as well for formal tracking and link this discussion.
