Not possible to generate passed dates in workflows

I don’t understand why SailPoint has build this limitation in this basic functionality

That was my exact question as I read the documentation. I can see cases where an API would limit incoming parameters, but a “date/time library” should not impose such restrictions.

TBH I personally see this as a bug, even if it “works as documented”.

Also the documentation can be improved as it does not mention how we can get the current datetime in workflows, even when it is possible to fetch it.

I asked the same question one month ago but didn’t get any feedback unfortunately.

Functions in workflows, e.g. getting the current date/time

Hello there, I needed to get the current date/time in an ISC workflow, and I found that I could somewhat use $.now() when using the define variable operator. I couldn’t find this feature documented here Operators - SailPoint Identity Services , or anywhere in the documentation pages for the workflows ( Creating and Managing Workflows - SailPoint Identity Services ) Could someone please point me to the documentation of $.now() and how this should be used? I was not able to use it in an templat…
