Managing Password Policies - SailPoint Identity Services

You can create password policies and associate them with a source to customize the password requirements for that source.

This is the companion discussion topic for the documentation at https://documentation.sailpoint.com/saas/help/pwd/pwd_policies/pwd_policies.html

Is this document (or some sections of it) outdated?

Hi @iamnithesh! Could you give me more information? Are you seeing something in your environment that is inconsistent with the documentation?

I was looking at “Associating a Password Policy with a Source” which seemed to be based on the older UI for source configuration

Hi @iamnithesh. I reviewed my environments and the documentation matches what I’m seeing. I went ahead and added a screenshot and updated a few things in the docs to make it clearer.

If this doesn’t match what you’re expecting, you might want to post in ISC Discussions and Questions for greater help from the community.

Thanks @rachel_rigdon
Appreciate you adding the screenshot
My confusion was due to this

@iamnithesh Ohh I see what you mean - thanks for that additional context. I added another screenshot and highlighted that Additional Settings section to help it stand out more. Thanks for helping us improve the docs! Please let me know if there’s anything else we can improve.

Hey Rachel!

I think the documentation here is out of date with the new UI. Currently, the Active Directory does not have any place to select the password policy from a dropdown list.

Hi @kkilafwasru! I understand the confusion - there are two Additional Settings menu items. One under the Source Setup section (which you shared), and then the screenshot in the documentation shows that Password Settings are configured in the Additional Settings section on the left-hand side.

Hey @rachel_rigdon!

Here is a screenshot I took this morning from the Active Directory connector:

There is only 1 “Additional Settings” tab, which does not contain the password policy dropdown.

@kkilafwasru Ah thank you for clarifying. I reached out to our engineering and product teams and they encouraged submitting a support ticket for help diagnosing the problem.
