In Discovery: Date-time Constraints in Access Requests

Business Problem

Customers want more controls around requested access timeframes. This can include:

  • configuring requirements for end dates on requests for certain items
  • specifying the maximum amount of time a person is allowed to hold certain access items before requiring re-request/re-approval
  • allowing users to specify an end time (in addition to date) in their Request Center access requests
  • and more!

Thank you @jennifer_mitchell for taking the time to meet with me yesterday to walk through theDate-time constraint feature .
I’m excited about this new feature allowing end users to request timebound access as well as entitlement owners to make it mandatory on the config level . I’ve shared my feedback on all the topics we covered, including:

  • Mandatory Expiration
  • Time-based Requests
  • Start Date & Max Duration
  • Approver Modification of Dates

Looking forward to seeing how these ideas evolve and contribute to the product roadmap. Please feel free to reach out if there’s anything else I can help with.
