Hi Akhila Sure here are some differences there might be more but some which i can highlight are as below:

File Access Manager (FAM) Module

  1. Advanced Data Governance: Offers full governance over unstructured data (files, folders, shares).
  2. Access Visibility: Provides detailed visibility into who has access to what unstructured data.
  3. Risk Analysis: Analyzes access risk based on data sensitivity and access patterns.
  4. Access Certification: Enables certification/review campaigns for file share and folder access.
  5. Activity Monitoring: Tracks real-time user access and activity on file servers.
  6. Use Case: Best for organizations needing Data Access Governance (DAG).

Unstructured Target (Application Type)

  1. Basic Integration: Used to model file servers or unstructured resources as applications.
  2. Account/Entitlement Aggregation: Only collects user accounts and their access (permissions).
  3. No Risk Analysis: Does not provide any insight into access risk or sensitivity of data.
  4. No Activity Monitoring: Cannot track actual file usage or access events.
  5. Use Case: Suitable for basic reporting on unstructured access when FAM is not available.
