Enhancement: Scheduled Access Start for Manage Access (V2)

:sparkles: Description

The Manage Access action now includes two new optional fields: Access Start Date and Access Start Time. These fields let you schedule when approved access should begin, instead of always granting access immediately when the workflow runs.

When a start date/time is provided, the existing duration logic is applied from that scheduled start (not from request submission), so end dates are calculated correctly after access begins.

:red_exclamation_mark: Problem

Previously, access was granted as soon as the workflow executed. That made it harder to align access with planned start windows (for example, onboarding dates or controlled cutover timing), and could lead to timing mismatches when duration-based end dates were expected to begin later.

:light_bulb: Solution

  • Access Start Date: Sets the UTC date when access should begin. Access starts at 00:00 UTC on the date selected.

  • If you don’t provide a start date, Workflows grants access immediately.

  • Select Duration is now calculated from the scheduled start timestamp (when provided), ensuring access end dates are aligned to actual start time.

  • All entered scheduling values are interpreted in UTC.

:busts_in_silhouette: Who is affected?

Customers using the Manage Access action in Workflows who need to schedule when granted access becomes active.

That’s really great !!

Isn’t this fixed start date remark contradicting with

Will it always be at 00:00UTC or does it support a start date?

In case it will be at 00:00, wouldn’t it make more sense for it to be 00:00 at the timezone of the tenant rather than UTC?

Kind regards,
Angelo
