We need to delete criteria based roles, does deletion of this will revoke access (entitlements) to users.
Deleting a role does not revoke the access because no deprovisioning takes place. If your goal is for users to retain access this is good. If your goal is to revoke access, you need a deprovisioning action first (I believe disabling the role first will deprovision access, but if not, you can add criteria that you know nobody will qualify for).
we want to retail access not the deprovision. Just want to delete role
Then you should be okay, I tested deleting a role and it did not deprovision the access/entitlement.
