Deprecation: Legacy “Manage Access” and “Manager Approval” Features in ServiceNow ISC Service Catalog

Description

We are officially announcing the upcoming deprecation of two legacy components within the ServiceNow ISC Service Catalog: the “Manage Access” (manage_access) page and the “Manager Approval” feature under the “Approval flow” settings.

:warning: Important Scope Notice: This deprecation is strictly limited to customers who use “SailPoint’s ServiceNow ISC Service Catalog” integration. If your organization does not utilize this specific ServiceNow integration, no action is required and your deployment is unaffected.

Why is this changing?

  • “Manage Access” Page: Two years ago, we introduced a modern, widget-based user interface for portal pages and record producers. In anticipation of this deprecation, no new functionalities or features have been added to the legacy manage_access page over the last two years.

  • “Manager Approval” Feature: Since the introduction of “Configurable Approvals” three years ago, administrators have enjoyed enhanced flexibility to define the approval process while executing approvals natively in ServiceNow. The older “Manager Approval” feature is now redundant, and migrating ensures no loss of capabilities.

Required Action:

If your organization is still utilizing these legacy features, please plan your migrations before the end of the year:

  • UI Migration: Migrate from the legacy manage_access interface to the modern, widget-based interface.

  • Approval Migration: Migrate from “Manager Approval” to “Configurable Approvals”.

Deprecation Timeline:

Both the legacy “Manage Access” page and the “Manager Approval” feature will be officially removed from the product in our first release of 2027.
