Data Migration between Target System & Authoritative Source

We have a use case where we have to do a data migration between our target system and authoritative source, but we might get extra entitlements from target system that are not matched with that in the authoritative source. In this case, when we aggregate from authoritative source, we would foresee the extra entitlements to be overridden. Are there any ways we could prevent this from happening?

Which connector are you using for the target system?

Hi Mark,

We’re using Microsoft Azure AD connector.

I’m uncertain about the specific context of this environment, but if the intention is to synchronize entitlements and access rights according to data from a trusted source and predefined roles, it appears to be primarily a process of organization and alignment. However, if there are entitlements assigned to users that fall outside the defined scope or access profiles, those would remain unaffected and unchanged.

What data are you migrating exactly from Authoritative source to Target Source, Entitlements ?

If yes then we should make sure that we get all the entitlements from Target Source that are in Authoritative Source, If you get some more entitlements extra, that’s fine.

I guess Azure AD is your Target Source.

Hi Sunny,

Yes, we’re trying to synchronize the data.

“However, if there are entitlements assigned to users that fall outside the defined scope or access profiles, those would remain unaffected and unchanged.”

By this statement, do you mean that the extra entitlements that are coming from the target system will remain unaffected, and hence not be overridden from the data in the authoritative source?
