We are looking to upgrade some servers, which will require a database upgrade as well. We’d like to go directly to SQL Server 2022, but we won’t be able to move to 8.4 until sometime later in 2025. Could we run SQL Server 2022 and set the databases compatibly level to SQL Server 2019 for IIQ 8.3 p3 until we are able to upgrade to 8.4?

Documentation says 8.3 supports MS SQL Server 2019 and 2017 for database.

Hi @mer21,

in sailpoint you dont need to set the compatibly with the DB. Everytime is better follow the guide but I tried to install IIQ 8.3 on MSSQL 2022 and it works.

The impact could depeds if you use some funcion of MSSQL 2019 that are deprecated on 2022. Check it and test in a sandbox or in a dev enviroment.

We are now running SQL Server 2022 with the databases compatibly level to SQL Server 2019 for IIQ 8.3 p3 in our dev environment. So far everything seems to be functioning correctly. We’ve been running like this for about 2 weeks now and are going to start process of upgrading our QA environment soon.

as I suggested to you…
