I’m currently learning SailPoint IdentityIQ and trying to build a strong understanding of how IIQ is actually used in real-world projects. I came across your contributions in the SailPoint community.
I’m a beginner at the moment, so I’m trying to learn from people who have practical implementation experience. Can anyone please teach me sailpoint iiq please by providing labs PDFs and topic wise learning material so that I can learn and build strong foundation and career in it..
I would really appreciate any guidance or advice on what I should focus on to become job-ready in IIQ.
Along with SailPoint University, you can also check out this blog on getting started with SailPoint IIQ development. It might be helpful as a practical starting point:
If your org is SailPoint partener/ customer you will get access compass portal where you Will be able get IIQ pre reqs and maybe you can setup your lab in try practicing with delimitedfile, webservices and jdbc connects ,you can setup your tables locally with any db and you will find the open APIs in reqres.in like platforms for ws connector, you can build your files for delimitedfile connector
Post that start developing few rule like simple identityObj by name or id to get used to it
That’s how I leaned in initial career straight out of campus with good mentors / friends
Then can pivot to connector rules and OOTB connector onboarding etc
Hi @sakshu13 - With a valid Compass account, you are able to download the software. I would recommend setting up a local sandbox of IIQ so you can get familiar with the UI and have hands on experience while you train. You would need:
Hi, I would recommend starting with SailPoint University and looking for the IIQ Essentials course. It’s a good starting point to understand the IIQ fundamentals before moving on to more advanced topics.
For beginners, I’d suggest focusing on the fundamentals first: Identity Lifecycle, Applications, Aggregation, Correlation, Provisioning, Roles, Certifications, Workflows, and Rules. The SailPoint documentation is a great starting point. For hands-on learning, try building a small IIQ lab and practice each topic step by step. Good luck with your IIQ journey.
Before starting with IIQ, get comfortable with Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts: provisioning, joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle, role-based access control (RBAC), access certifications, and separation of duties.
Then start with architecture (the IIQ application server, database, connectors), then move to Applications and Connectors (how IIQ connects to Active Directory, LDAP, databases), then Lifecycle Manager (provisioning workflows), then Access Certifications/Reviews, then Role Management, and finally advanced topics like BeanShell scripting and rule writing.
