This looks like great event at Navigate. Does Navigate pass/admission covers the entrance fee for the October 2 Skiled Sessions, listed in the registration link shared-Skilled Sessions Austin 2025

This all looks great, though I just have to say I’m surprised DOMC is still being used for the Engineer exam… as someone who has passed it before I’ve never seen a worse testing format

Hi Peter, thanks for your question!

Identity University: Skilled Sessions is offered as an add-on at an additional cost. These sessions give attendees early access to brand-new training (including some announced at Navigate), along with tenant environments, training materials, and the chance to learn alongside peers and SailPoint-certified engineers.

Compared to our current instructor-led training courses, Skilled Sessions represent a savings of $600–$700.

A few insights on why training matters:

  • 85% of high-performing organizations invest in continuous training and certification.
  • Companies that regularly refresh employee training are 50% more likely to see increased platform adoption and proficiency.

We see Skilled Sessions as a cost-effective way to equip teams with the latest knowledge while accelerating their success with SailPoint.

Thank you for your feedback!

Our certification exams are built to be rigorous but fair. Each question is carefully developed by subject matter experts to ensure it accurately measures mastery. We use DOMC to strengthen exam integrity and reduce the risk of cheating. Unlike traditional multiple-choice tests, DOMC shows answer options one at a time, which removes the chance to guess through elimination. This way, results reflect true knowledge and understanding, giving a more accurate and secure measure of skills.

I know how DOMC format works and the arguments in its favor, like I said I’ve passed the exam. Don’t really need to get too into it here as I was just expressing my surprise that it’s still being used, but it very much does not reflect true knowledge and understanding; it serves more as a psychological challenge, for example about whether a “more right” answer than the one you’re currently seeing may appear in the future. Almost feels like you have to make a gamble based on information you don’t have. It would maybe make sense if all the questions were cut and dry like simple math problems. When it comes to things such as best practices and configuration, where the answers aren’t as black and white, as the test taker it feels like you’re fighting the exam format more than the questions themselves.

There’s also been multiple papers written about DOMC providing an unfair experience between test takers, as the random order answers are presented in changes the difficulty (and time required to complete the exam).

I understand it does a good job of preventing memorization/sharing of previous exam material, which is valuable, but that’s all it’s really good at.

Didn’t really mean to end up going on a whole rant but I guess I did :upside_down_face: I really hate this exam format if you couldn’t tell.

Hi, thanks for the request. Ambassador points are not redeemable for this event. Hope to see you there!

Rachel Leighter I’m reaching out regarding the Navigate West in-person training event on October 2, 2025. I wanted to check if there are any volunteer opportunities or requirements for this event. If so, I’d be glad to support.

Thanks for reaching out, Narayana! At this time, there aren’t any volunteer opportunities for Skilled Sessions. We appreciate your willingness to support though!
