I was working on a Before Provisioning rule which is a Cloud Executed rule. I wanted to double check the syntax to add to the source for attaching the Before Provisioning rule, and could not find the steps in the Cloud Executed Rules section, but I have seen this somewhere before. I then went to Connecter Executed Rules and found the BeforeProvisioning rule reference there for attaching to a source. This should really live under the Cloud Executed Rules section of developer.sailpoint.com. I believe the correlation rules should be moved over there as well. Or there could just be a general “Attaching rules to sources” section that is not specific to cloud/connector.
@tyler_mairose can you look into this?
@patrickboston, I see how this could be confusing.
I could move the BeforeProvisioning Rule and correlation rules over. I do like the idea of a section for all of these or what do you think about adding a new section to the end of each individual document about how to attach it to a source?
I am good with either of those options to be honest.
That would be great if it could be corrected. Right now it’s confusing to see the BeforeProvisioning Cloud Rule under the Connector Rules section, since it doesn’t really belong there. Having it properly placed (or having a dedicated “Attaching rules to sources” section) would make the documentation much clearer.
Also, the overall Cloud Rules documentation feels quite limited. There’s very little information available, and most of the time we have to rely on community posts and hope to find the right one. It would be extremely helpful if the official documentation included more details, for example how to retrieve these rules, view their technical IDs, and similar operations.
