Atlassian Cloud or SaaS

Hello Community!

I need to integrate Atlassian and its suite in SailPoint ISC for my customer. I looked at the documentation and found two types of connectors:

  1. Atlassian Suite SaaS
  2. Atlassian Suite Cloud

Reading the documentation I can find no differences between the two.
Trying to create a Source in ISC, I find both the Cloud and SaaS connectors but when I click on “Documentation” both connectors open the Atlassian Suite Cloud documentation.

  1. What are the differences between the two connectors?
  2. How can I identify the best connector to use? How could understand which Atlassian version is in place for my customer?
  3. Is the Atlassian Suite SaaS connector updated or is it deprecated by SailPoint?

Atlassian Suite Cloud uses a Virtual Appliance. Atlassian Suite SaaS uses the SaaS infrastructure.

So it just depends on if you want ISC to go directly to Atlassian (SaaS) or if you would rather have ISC go to a Virtual Appliance (on-prem) and then to Atlassian.

Personally I would use Atlassian Suite Cloud.

In addition, the Cloud connector also supports “Multiple Group Entitlements” whereas the SaaS counterpart doesn’t.
If there are no other differences then I think too that the best solution would be the Cloud connector
