Description

A major performance effort took place to redesign and modernize the Data Access Security OneDrive and SharePoint Online Crawl and Permission Collection tasks. The outcome of this effort decreases the time it takes for the Crawl and Permissions Collection tasks to complete while also improving stability and scalability.

Solution

To accomplish this, new API’s were implemented which requires adjusting permissions in your existing OneDrive & Sharepoint Online Azure Application Registration. Without these changes applied, both the Crawl and Permission Collection task will no longer run successfully.

Please Note: We recommend having two separate Azure application registrations, one for each connector.

Who is affected?

All Data Access Security customers who are utilizing SharePoint Online and/or OneDrive Application Types.

Action Required

OneDrive

At your earliest convenience, please update your OneDrive Azure Application API permissions to reflect the following:

  1. Microsoft Graph (new!)

    • Files.Read.All (new!)

    • Sites.Read.All (new!)

    • User.Read.All (new!)

    • Domain.Read.All (new!)

  2. Office 365 Management APIs

    • ActivityFeed.Read

  3. SharePoint

    • Sites.Fullcontrol.All

SharePoint Online

At your earliest convenience, please also update your SharePoint Azure Application API permissions to reflect the following:

    • Sites.Read.All (new!)

    • Sites.Fullcontrol.All
