Access Request query gets removed when changing access items

Hi all,

In the access new request center, I want to request a role, so I go to the request center, click request for myself and start typing in the search bar. Nothing shows up, because by default it uses the Applications as access type rather than role, or more general, access items. I think it would make most sense that all types are initially visible and allow you to filter on the type later.

But now if you change the type of object you want to request it will remove the query you have typed and you will need to type the query again.

I think it makes sense that if the end user types a query and then chooses the object type (Applications, Roles, Access Profiles, Entitlements or Access items (Roles+Access Profiles+Entitlements)), the query stays instead of getting removed.

It is easy to remove a query if you want it to be removed. It takes more time typing the whole query again.

Kind regards,
Angelo

Hey @angelo_mekenkamp, thanks for being patient during the holiday delay! @developer_advocates will be getting back to you sometime today

Thanks for the suggestion Angelo. This type of feedback is considered a feature request by our product team, and they prefer that feature requests go through the ideas portal. Can you please submit an idea and link to it in this thread? The more people that upvote it the more likely our product team will see and act on this.

Hi @colin_mckibben,

Given that it can take years before SailPoint responds to posts in the idea portal, I am not that motivated to submit ideas there, especially when it concerns a quite small UI update rather than a new piece of functionality. Therefore I prefer to give feedback here in the feedback portal, where it is also more easy to navigate through.

In any case, I have created the idea and linked to this post in the ideas portal, so anyone: please vote on this idea if you agree with it.

Kind regards,
Angelo Mekenkamp
