Validate Provisioning with Test user

Hi Team, What is the best way to validate Provisioning with a single user (test user)?

I have configured provisioning policy on a Source (Active Directory in this case). How do I validate if everything is configured correctly using a single user?

Currently, I’m using Role but issue is it processes all the identities even though you selected only one user in the role assignment. It take 1hr or more to process all identities and test one user.

Are there other ways to perform this validation more effectively?

I don’t want to take the route of creating a new delimited file source and set up a new Identity profile, different life cycle state to test them out.

If someone can share how they perform their validation that will be very helpful.

Thanks
Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Assuming you have account aggregation for an Active Directory source, you will see Active Directory Security Groups will be marked as Entitlement.

Go to Global → System Settings → System Feature and Make sure that Enable Entitlement Requests check box is enabled

Go to Access-> Entitlements → Pick any Active Directory Security Group and mark it as requestable

Go to Request Center → Click on Request for others-> Select your test account → Select the Security Group marked as requestable an raise the request

If Test account doesn’t Active Directory account it will create one, if it already has account this Security Group will be added to that account. (Run account aggregation to confirm the same)

You can check the logs in “Account Activity” or “Event” for that identity

Hi Mahesh,

Actually, we don’t own “Access Request” module. So we will not be able to leverage the method you mentioned above. But thank you for that option for customers who own it. Great Idea!!.
