To provisioning… and beyond! Expanding identity automation with ISC workflows

Description

Provisioning an account is often the easy part - everything that comes after is where onboarding starts getting complicated. This session explores how SailPoint Workflows enable developers to go “to provisioning… and beyond!” by automating the full lifecycle of onboarding a personal privileged account across Active Directory, CyberArk, and external request systems.

Organizations often rely on a combination of manual steps, custom scripts, and ticket-driven processes to complete privileged onboarding after the initial account is created. Tasks such as creating a CyberArk safe, granting access to that safe, and securely onboarding the privileged account rarely fit neatly into traditional provisioning models. The result is an inconsistent process that is difficult to govern, troubleshoot, or scale.

Using a real end-to-end example, this session breaks down how these “beyond provisioning” activities can be reimagined as modular, reusable workflow components triggered directly within SailPoint or orchestrated externally through ServiceNow. Instead of stitching together fragile automation or relying on human intervention at critical points, we’ll walk through a design approach that treats each step as an independent, composable workflow building block.

Attendees will leave with a clear model for turning privileged onboarding into a fully automated identity orchestration pipeline. They will learn where to introduce workflow boundaries, how to structure integrations across platforms, and how to replace operational complexity with predictable, governed automation that scales. This talk shows how SailPoint can take you not just to provisioning, but truly beyond it.
