To Create Service account for API Calls

Hi,

We have developed a java code for custom report in INow. I’m planning to use a service account and in that way I can log in into INow using service account credentials to get the client ID and Client secret.

My Aim here is to avoid sharing my client ID and credentials.

does anyone had the same scenario, Kindly let me the better approach to use some generic account instead of induvial account.

I tried using a service account, But we have SSO enabled for INow Prod, So it is automatically picking my account to login to INow. Is there a better option to tackle this.

Hi Chandra,

Please take a look at this post. Admin service account.

@colin_mckibben

I tried the same as mentioned on the referenced post. we already have flatfile for service accounts (Authoritative source) and i added new service account giving my own email address, The service account Identity got created and I sent an invite to service account. When I tried to login, there comes a problem as we have SSO enabled in our system and INow application is added under SSO signin. So whenever I try to login with service account from system, It pushes to my own individual account signing in.

Is there any other option like going for mail enabled service account or do we need to bypass SSO to login with service account.

Kindly suggest recommended option.

You can bypass sso for these cases. To use bypass url the identity must have some kind of elevated permissions apart from standard user.
bypass url is : https://orgname.identitynow.com/login/login?prompt=true
