I am working with SAP SuccessFactors as my authoritative source and have discovered that when a transfer occurs (i.e. jobCode changes) the change is immediate even when in SuccessFactors the transfer is not live until a later date. Does anyone here have a similar experience or have any insight into solutions?
Having all transfers happen in this way causes access issues as the user’s accounts in other systems are affected before they should be.
It might be that relying solely on jobCode changes is not the right approach. Is the transfer date an account attribute you can pull in from SuccessFactors? You may need both the jobCode and the transfer date in order to calculate when a lifecycle state change should occur.
Thus far working with our SuccessFactors support we have been unable to find the appropriate ODATA field on their API to call.
Unsure if this helps or not, but we have some middleware (Mulesoft API) in between our two authoritative sources for personnel (SuccessFactors and FieldGlass). It can recognize that and not push the changes until their effective date. We use the SuccessFactors connector, but only as a source that helps facilitate access reviews.
