I’m quite new at Sailpoint, and since we are working with an integrator I need to have an ideia of the efforts for developing Sailpoint IdentityIQ artifacts (Workflow, Rules, Applications, …) according to the complexity (low, medium, high), also need to have a description for them accordint to the artifact". In the end I should have and “estimation effort”, I’ve a Excel template to do this but for other tecnologies rather than Sailpoint…
Can someone help me with this?
I acknowledge the importance of obtaining this information, but it is difficult to offer any benchmarking for estimation without a clear understanding of the environment landscape. As mentioned earlier, it is advisable to have your integrator furnish you with effort estimation and timeline
As a consultant, I provide the estimation fairly, not too many hours and not too less. It is completely depend on the work, it is not like it takes same amount of time for all applications to onboard them.
Every connector is different kind of work.
If it is JDBC/Webservice then a bit more work will be there as these are generic connectors.
If it is direct connector like Active Directory, may be a less work.
IIQ needs extensive development, you need to develop Rules, custom workflows, LCM workflows customization, email templates… etc
I always provide the breakup of work with all the action items in detail starting from
Requirement gathering
Configuration
Development
Testing
Documentation
Support
Maintenance
Every category in detail, how many objects are required, does it config/development, how much it takes for each object.
Categorizing the use cases into small, medium and high.
When you get effort explained in detail like this, I believe it is easy to take a stand on it.
thanks for your help, I would like to have exactly what you describe and I’ve something similar, the question here is I’m newbie in Sailpoint development, and that’s why I mentioned benchmark, just to be able to compare.
I’ve attached one of the matrix I’ve from one of the integrators, for some artifacts I have an ideia if it’s “reasonable”, but for most of them I don’t have, since I’m newbie…
