While I was attending developer days this year I got a sense that Sailpoint is moving to be more open source. I was wondering if SailPoint was planning on making the entire platform open source or if it will be segmented off to what will be open source.
An Example:
VA configuration - Will this be open source so that we would be able to view the configurations of a VA to be able to get a better understanding how these systems work and what dependences they have to 3rd party applications and services?
Yes, SailPoint is making investments in open source, which involves new tools that we are building (ex. CLI, SDKs) as well as older tools that have been distributed and used by the community. We have identified some of these older tools, like the IIQ Eclipse Plugin, as good candidates for being open source. In general, tools that aid users in using extensibility features like our APIs and event triggers are going to lean towards becoming open source, while core components of the SailPoint platform, like the VA, will not be open sourced.
