Reverse Attribute Sync

Hi Everyone,

I’m pretty new to ISC and have been exploring the attribute synchronization option and have achieved a sync between my Authoritative, ISC / Identities and Downstream source. However I have a use case where my authoritative source will not contain an attribute one of my downstream sources will have and I need to do the reverse where that value is pushed into the identity but not my authoritative source. Any guidance on how I would achieve this or if it’s even possible? Adding this attribute to my Authoritative is not an option either unfortunately.

Hello @AlistairTrout1 ,

Yes is possible. In your Identity Profile, you need to map the Identity attribute using an account attribute transform instead of pulling from the authoritative source. This way, the value is populated from the downstream account during aggregation without affecting the authoritative source.

Hi @pablonovoa,

Where does the transform come into play? After checking your correct I can use a mapping to get the value from a different source - would the transform be to modify the value itself? If I needed just the exact source value this would be fine no?

If you don’t need to alter the value in any way, then you are correct no transform is necessary.
