Here a screen for unoptimized aggreg via Postman :
Hope it’s help,
Thomas
I have used the Source’s externalId only. But that is not shown in the Screenshot
Your source ID seems too small (ex on my side : 9935ba248f38482da93092f26f05c448 => 32 char)
Here’s my headers (postman managed them alone) :
The end of life for this API has been moved back to July 8th to allow enough time for our engineers to implement the x-www-form-urlencode
content type which will allow the unoptimized aggregation option to be used with Workflows.
Hi @colin_mckibben
does this mean old version of FUU would also work until July 8th ?
Yes, but I recommend you switch to the new version ASAP.
@colin_mckibben Thanks. That’s great news. As soon as the new API can call an upoptimzed aggregation i will switch over.
I switched it over in the workflow but it didn’t call an unoptimized agg. Is this still pending work to be done by the SailPoint engineers?
Yes. The work to add x-www-form-urlencode
as an additional content-type is currently in progress. It’s looking like it will be released by Friday at the latest. Once it is released, you can use this endpoint in Workflows to run aggregations with the disableOptimization flag.
Folks, I encourage you to go vote on the below idea. It’s to add the ability to run (both ad Hoc and to schedule) unoptimized aggregations via the UI as a standard product feature. I think this thread more than justifies adding this feature.
I will vote for it. I put this idea forward last fall and was told it was out of scope.
Ideas are just that - IDEAS and rarely actually implemented and when they are they take forever. Frustrating as we’re told to log these as ideas which just seems like a method to placate the user community.
I can understand the frustration with the ideas portal. Most ideas don’t make it into the product for various reasons. It’s important to consider that there are a lot of ideas out there and only so many engineers to implement them. Even though it can be frustrating and feel like you’re submitting an idea into the void, it is the primary tool that our product team uses to understand user ideas and which ones are popular. Usually, the number of votes is the best determination as to which ideas make it into the product.
If you have an idea, your best chance of seeing it implemented is to submit it to the ideas portal and to ask people to vote for it. If you don’t submit it, then it has almost no chance of being implemented.
I don’t know that i agree that they are only to placate the user community. I have had multiple discussions with different product managers at SailPoint. I have always felt; with the exception of this issue; that they really did care what i was saying and wanted feedback in what the product was doing and how it did that. I had the work around of using workflows to call and API call to accomplish what i needed so it wasn’t an issue. @colin_mckibben is working with internal teams to get that functionality in place with the new API.
The trick is to get enough votes (I’m told ones with over 100 definitely get on their radar) and then to advocate for the feature through your CSM. So I encourage all of you to vote, and to ask your co-workers to vote. Then talk to your CSM about it.
Regarding the ad hoc unoptimized account aggregation through the UI. I agree that this is very useful, and since this is not supported by SailPoint, I decided to add this button for myself.
Works like a charm! So I definitely understand and agree with the idea that SailPoint makes something like this available for every tenant.
To be completely fair, I personally have not come across the need of scheduled unoptimized aggregations. I only see the need to use it during troubleshooting or after making changes to configuration such as account correlation configuration, so I would be curious in knowing why others need to schedule unoptimized aggregations, which I expect take much more computational power and energy as a downside.
Kind regards,
Angelo
Hello Angelo,
Good idea !
You load custom JS with something like tampermonkey ?
Any chance to share it with the community ?
Have a good day,
Thomas
This is brilliant. Can you show us how you implemented that?
Hello Colin, do we have any news about this integration?
Thank you and best regards
Hi @tdelorge-mmb and @WyssAJ01,
I don’t want to deviate from this original topic too much, so for further remarks/questions, feel free to PM me.
Glad to see you like this concept, but I doubt I can share this, I’ll check internally with my colleagues though. I guess an additional downside of sharing is that this might lower the priority on SailPoint to build this button themselves and properly support it such that it is available for all tenants without my ‘hacky’ add-on. But I do recommend watching this developer days videos, where I explain the basics of something similar I build: mISCellaneous dISCoveries in ISC
