SailPoint Accelerated Application Management - Visibility and New Discovery Connectors*
Description
We’re introducing new dashboards in MySailPoint to see application onboarding progress and critical applications that haven’t been onboarded. Orgs will also be able to see more detailed info about each application (app owner, status, and more). As well as new connectors dedicated to the Application and its metadata discovery.
Problem
Organizations face critical risk exposure due to insufficient visibility into their application landscape across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. IT and security teams cannot effectively secure, govern, or manage applications they cannot see, resulting in unmonitored attack surfaces, shadow IT proliferation, and unclear application interdependencies.
This visibility gap creates cascading risks including potential data breaches, regulatory non-compliance, operational disruptions from unexpected cascading failures, and financial waste through redundant spending and inefficient license management. Without comprehensive application visibility, organizations cannot accurately assess their risk posture, make informed technology decisions, or effectively respond to incidents—fundamentally undermining their ability to operate securely in an increasingly complex digital ecosystem where applications proliferate faster than visibility capabilities can adapt.
Solution
Discovery Connectors - A new breed of Connectors carved out from the existing governance sources dedicated to “Application” metadata discovery and risk parameters.
MySailPoint Dashboard focuses on the application onboarding progress from the continuous applications discovery process and metadata obtained from SSO and CMDB systems to show the risk posture of an organization.
Note: In the near future, the app discovery feature, currently available through governance connectors, will transition to the newly launched discovery connectors. Further details will be shared as this migration progresses. Additionally, user data and associated metadata will be incorporated through discovery connectors at a later date to enable application risk assessment. We will provide updates when these capabilities become available.
