Managing Access Model Metadata - SailPoint Identity Services

To enrich an organization’s access model and add valuable contextual information to access items, Admins can utilize metadata attributes. SailPoint includes some default global metadata attributes you can use “out-of-the-box”. You can also create custom metadata attributes for entitlements and roles to add further context.

This is the companion discussion topic for the documentation at https://documentation.sailpoint.com/saas/help/access/metadata.html

I am an Admin but do not have the access as defined in the documentation - Admin > Access > Metadata. I have Admin > Access Model only.

Hello @lisa_hoeft ! Thanks so much for asking about this. Admin > Access Model > Metadata is indeed the correct path. This has been corrected in the documentation thanks to you :grinning:

Thank you, but as an Admin, I am not presented with the option of Metadata. Is that elevated access or SailPoint only??

Hello @lisa_hoeft . Custom metadata is currently in Limited Availability release. For further information or advice, please file a Support ticket.
Thanks,
Hope

Thank you for the confirmation.

Do you plan to add API endpoints to work with metadata? (or api calls are already there)

Hi @sergiyshpak! You can check out our API documentation at Access Model Metadata | SailPoint Developer Community.

Hi, Is it possible to add the limitations to the documentation?
For example the below from the post https://developer.sailpoint.com/discuss/t/new-capability-custom-metadata/83578/22:

  1. Only 25 custom attributes can be defined, where they are working to increase it to 50.
  2. Each custom attribute can be assigned a maximum of 25 different values, where they are working to increase it to 50.

Thanks

Hi @Louise22 . Thanks for reaching out. I will look into this and update here.

@Louise22 I have created a ticket (SAASDOCS-9656) to get the documentation updated with the limits. Thanks!

Hello @Louise22. The custom metadata documentation has been updated with the limits. Thanks!
