How can I set up a Loopback Connector in SailPoint IdentityIQ, and what are its real-time use cases, advantages, and disadvantages?
Hi @Rameshv - the loopback connector is a great option to turn IdentityIQ identities into accounts, so you can request workgroups/capabilities/etc
Have used it several times in the past to certify workgroup membership, IIQ permissions, etc
Would definitely check out this documentation on the loopback connector for setting it up: https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/Professional-Services/IdentityIQ-Loopback-Connector/ta-p/172364
@Rameshv Please follow this article: https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/Professional-Services/IdentityIQ-Loopback-Connector/ta-p/172364. You need deploy a connector class, xhtml file and connectorRegistry changes.
Also, you can search these in the Compass portal first to see if any documentation available or not.
I tried opening the link, but it shows ‘Access Denied.’ Could you please share the documentation instead of the link? That would be helpful for others as well. I also attempted access using my corporate email.
Link should be accessible with your compass account if you are registered with company email. In case you are not able to access, please work with Sailpoint Support to fix your access.
echoing what @neel193 said!
Hi @Rameshv Ramesh - A practical use case and key benefit is managing which identities belong to specific workgroups and capabilities. This lets you govern and manage the lifecycle of IdentityIQ components such as Workgroups and Capabilities so you can enforce finer‑grained access controls within the IdentityIQ environment. This functionality is commonly provided together with the SailPoint Services Framework (SSF).
Disadvantage - You cannot create account through the provisioning policies like other connector.
