Is there a way to auto decline access requests after some time?

Hi IDN Experts,

As title, is there a way to auto decline access requests in IdentityNow after some time?
Looking at the Access request configuration, it sounds like we can only escalation the approval and ultimately to the fallback approver, but seems there is not option to auto decline it after a period of time.
Any suggestions are welcomed, thanks

You can use workflow … at high level below will steps in workflow

  1. Scheduled Trigger
  2. Search for all open access requests with date > specific days
  3. Auto close the approval request (Deny Access Request) in loop

So, we cannot do anything in the access request configuration but to use other methods like workflow to deny the outstanding approvals.

Hi,

I believe you cannot use anything within access requests to achieve this. You should make use of either workflows or event triggers, if workflows are not enabled.

In case of event triggers you need to write a custom code and host it.

Exactly, I don’t think we have any configuration at entitlement, AP or role level to auto approve access requests.
