Hello Community -
I am new to SailPoint ISC. I got access to the tenant and now have no idea what to do next.
Either set up a virtual appliance, or what should be the next step?
Thanks
Hi Rohit,
Learn the basic course from the university and start to proceed from setting up a VA and then onboard a application and then try different modules in it.
Identity University - Training Paths - IdentityNow | SailPoint?
Thanks,

Hi @naveenkarthikkrk
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check it out.
Thanks,
Rohit
First of all congratulations on getting into SailPoint ISC\IDN.
As previously mentioned by @naveenkarthikkrk please leverage the learning on the https://www.university.sailpoint.com/ And to answer your query according to me for a new ISC tenant you will be identifying the following:
- Product branding and authentication mechanism
- Setup a PAT (this will come handy, thank me later )
- Authoritative Sources (if not flat file please setup VA)
- Identity Profile
- VA
- End target system connection
- Use-case based provisioning/deprovisioning setup.
Almost everything listed above is documented in depth here: https://documentation.sailpoint.com/
And as always drop your questions here. More than happy to help you out.
Thanks,
Aman
@amansingh
I’m trying to deploy VA on local.
Download virtual appliance package & try to Import “va-vmware-20231201.ova” file in VirtualBox.
When I try deploy/import it sends the next error:
Adding on to @amansingh, you might also look into the Mock Project. It has a lot of common configuration items for you to explore.
