How to set field value automatically in workitem?

Hi I have a scenario to set the field value automatically in workitem.

If i select JohnSmith as manager for application then all the 10 application need to set the JohnSmith as manager for the field.

I have tried with set method for description it’s works fine. Any idea how to achieve this?

It got resolved after i set the field type as static
