It is great to see that the old email templates will be added here as well. Please note that there is functionality from version 1 email templates that doesn’t exists in version 2 email templates. Functionality we rely on. See Available Email Templates - SailPoint Identity Services.
Version 1 templates gives us access to all identity attributes, even identity attributes created by ourselves. Version 2 does not offer this, which makes it harder to send the right information to the end user.
Version 1 templates offers the no_send
functionality with Apache velocity logic.
Version 2 templates lack this functionality. This breaks the functionality that we have where we only send emails to specific end users and where we prevent sending emails to identities which are either inactive or from a location which is not in our scope yet.
It would be great if these email templates are only getting migrated to version 2 email templates if the version 2 templates offer at least the same functionality as the version 1 email templates.
I also notice that notification templates have a language attribute assigned to it, but it looks like currently only the English language is supported out of the box. Is this correct? Is there a roadmap for when we create the other email templates as well and use an identity attribute to map the right identity to the right translation of the email template?
Regarding the last part of my previous message. The question is still relevant. I have created an idea for multi-language support, which SailPoint does not seem to support yet for notification templates. Please consider voting for it if you experience this need as well: https://ideas.sailpoint.com/ideas/GOV-I-3760
