Hi @Sesche2,
Thank you for the announcement. it triggers some questions on my side. Can you please help answer these?
Before (or perhaps still), we have to look at many different locations for updates:
- https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/SaaS-Release-Notes/tkb-p/saas-release-notes. I notice that it contains some release notes, but not all. Although it mentions some bug fixes. I rarely see the bug fixes mentioned there when I report a bug and I hear from Support that the bug has been fixed, even ones that are related to bugs that are applicable to all tenants. Also as another example “bugfix” mentioned here was not visible in the release notes and we had to unpleasantly discover this change ourselves when a production process was suddenly failing. Will this new functionality prevent these issues from occuring and will all bugfixes be properly visible in the release notes?
- https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/SaaS-Updates-and-Announcements/bg-p/Updates. Not all updates are announced here, even some big ones. Will this new enhancement change anything here?
- https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/In-Discovery/tkb-p/in-discovery. I assume this will not change, since this is more related to investigation possible new functionality and how it should look like rather than announcements on it actually being deployed soon.
- Announcements - SailPoint Developer Community. Sometimes this is the first location we hear about a particular change and sometimes this announcement will mention that it will be in production on exactly the same day, which means we lost time to evaluate in non-production how the changes will effect current processes, and test on it to understand it’s effect on privacy and security. In addition we sometimes find critical bugs that should delay deployment to production, but this is not possible if the changes are announced on the same day it gets deployed. Especially if the changes are getting deployed to our production and non-production environments simultaneously. Will this new enhancement resolve this issue?
Furthermore, I have these questions:
- Sometimes, even after checking all these updates, we are noticing behavior changes that have not been reported. Will this new enhancement resolve this?
- Lastly, you mentioned that this new process is already live and we can now search past release notes, making it easier to find relevant updates. We were already able to click on previous weeks release notes, or the one before that etc. So what has truly changed here that we can now search past release notes? Suppose that I want to look for all release notes concerning workflows, or perhaps the SCIM2.0 SaaS connector. Can I now search in the release notes on these terms and find a filtered list of release notes matching the search terms? If so, that would be sweet, but can you then show how to search on this in the way I mentioned?
Kind regards,
Angelo
