Hi @Sesche2!

First off, thanks for this update!

Second, a question. My understanding is that since these updates are currently gated behind authentication, we can’t get an RSS feed for this, which means we can’t have these updates automatically pull into Teams and Slack and whatnot. Would it be possible to make it so that these updates can automatically feed into Teams and/or Slack so that our entire group gets the updates rather than each person needing to subscribe individually? I’ve poked around a lot in the Kronos docs (as much as I can without having an account) but didn’t find anything usable.

Edit to add: I am subscribed, but did not get any emails about today’s post. How can I get someone to check my account and make sure that everything is as it should be on the back-end?

Thanks!

Hi @Sesche2,

Thank you for the announcement. it triggers some questions on my side. Can you please help answer these?

Before (or perhaps still), we have to look at many different locations for updates:

  1. https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/SaaS-Release-Notes/tkb-p/saas-release-notes. I notice that it contains some release notes, but not all. Although it mentions some bug fixes. I rarely see the bug fixes mentioned there when I report a bug and I hear from Support that the bug has been fixed, even ones that are related to bugs that are applicable to all tenants. Also as another example “bugfix” mentioned here was not visible in the release notes and we had to unpleasantly discover this change ourselves when a production process was suddenly failing. Will this new functionality prevent these issues from occuring and will all bugfixes be properly visible in the release notes?
  2. https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/SaaS-Updates-and-Announcements/bg-p/Updates. Not all updates are announced here, even some big ones. Will this new enhancement change anything here?
  3. https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/In-Discovery/tkb-p/in-discovery. I assume this will not change, since this is more related to investigation possible new functionality and how it should look like rather than announcements on it actually being deployed soon.
  4. Announcements - SailPoint Developer Community. Sometimes this is the first location we hear about a particular change and sometimes this announcement will mention that it will be in production on exactly the same day, which means we lost time to evaluate in non-production how the changes will effect current processes, and test on it to understand it’s effect on privacy and security. In addition we sometimes find critical bugs that should delay deployment to production, but this is not possible if the changes are announced on the same day it gets deployed. Especially if the changes are getting deployed to our production and non-production environments simultaneously. Will this new enhancement resolve this issue?

Furthermore, I have these questions:

  1. Sometimes, even after checking all these updates, we are noticing behavior changes that have not been reported. Will this new enhancement resolve this?
  2. Lastly, you mentioned that this new process is already live and we can now search past release notes, making it easier to find relevant updates. We were already able to click on previous weeks release notes, or the one before that etc. So what has truly changed here that we can now search past release notes? Suppose that I want to look for all release notes concerning workflows, or perhaps the SCIM2.0 SaaS connector. Can I now search in the release notes on these terms and find a filtered list of release notes matching the search terms? If so, that would be sweet, but can you then show how to search on this in the way I mentioned?

Kind regards,
Angelo

Hi @sup3rmark!

Great question! You’re right that authentication restrictions can limit RSS feed options, and we’re actively looking into ways to improve our platform to make these features more accessible. In the meantime, there are a couple of ways you might be able to automate these updates.

For Slack, Khoros has a built-in integration that can send notifications for new posts and mentions directly to a channel. Another option is Slack’s email-to-channel feature—if Khoros sends email notifications, you could route them into Slack that way.

For Teams, there’s no direct Khoros integration, but each channel has a unique email address, so you could configure Khoros notifications to send there automatically.

As for the email notification issue, try going to ResourcesSubscriptions and making sure you’re subscribed under My Subscriptions. Then, check Notification Settings to ensure everything is configured correctly. If it all looks right but you’re still not receiving emails, please reach out to [email protected], and they should be able to help resolve the issue.

Hope that helps, and thanks for the question!

Hi @angelo_mekenkamp,

Thanks for these thoughtful questions! I’ll go through each point to clarify what’s changing with this new enhancement.

  1. Visibility of Bug Fixes in Release Notes
  • We’re working to improve the consistency of bug fix reporting in release notes, but not every fix will be included. Typically, only broadly impactful bug fixes are documented. That said, if you reported a bug and were notified that it was fixed but didn’t see it in the notes, I recommend following up with Support for confirmation.
  • The new enhancement won’t automatically capture every fix, but it does streamline how release notes are published and searched, making it easier to find what’s included.
  1. SaaS Updates & Announcements
  • While this section won’t change significantly, we’re continually refining our approach to ensure major updates are properly communicated. If there are specific types of updates you feel are missing, we’d love to hear that feedback—please feel free to reach out and let me know either through private message or right here in this thread!
  1. In-Discovery Space
  • You’re correct—this section remains focused on potential new functionality rather than confirmed releases. No changes are being made here.
  1. Timing of Developer Community Announcements
  • We understand the challenge of same-day production announcements and the need for sufficient evaluation time. While this enhancement is aimed at improving accessibility to release information, it does not change the timing of deployment communications. However, we’re actively looking at ways to improve how and when changes are shared to allow for better preparation.
  1. Unannounced Behavior Changes
  • While this process makes it easier to track updates, it does not guarantee that every minor behavior change will be documented. If you encounter unexpected changes, we still recommend flagging them through Support so they can be reviewed.
  1. Searching Past Release Notes
  • We’re still improving search functionality, but the easiest way to find past release notes is to go to the SaaS Release Notes section, click the dropdown next to the search bar, select This Category, and then enter your key term. This will filter results to the release notes, making it easier to find relevant updates.

Hope this helps clarify! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Saskia

Thanks! It appears that the Slack integration needs to be enabled on the back-end, I don’t see any options for it in the subscription settings. I’m also not sure the email-to-Slack/Teams options would work here, because we can’t subscribe arbitrary email addresses.

I have a number of subscriptions configured, but don’t get emails for any of them:
