Enhancement: Custom User Levels

Note: The Production Availability Date has been pushed out, we will update this post once we know more!

What’s New

We are excited to announce that Custom User Levels can now be requested via Entitlements. Custom User Levels will now create an Entitlement when they are published. Administrators can enable the new Entitlements to be request-able. Entitlements are now updated when the corresponding Custom User Level is updated and/or deleted.

Additionally, administrators can sort Custom User Level permissions by Name or Category. The UI was also updated to move the collapsible arrow from the left to the right side of the container.

Finally, the collapsible card on User Level - Review page was updated to move the collapsible arrow from the left to the right side of the container to be compliant with our latest design standards

Hello Jeff,

it seems like already existing Custom User levels are not automatically added as entitlements. Do we have to recreate them or is changing them enough?

Interesting… based on the announcement mentioning “when they are published,” I’m wondering if simply editing and re-publishing an existing Custom User Level would trigger entitlement creation instead of recreating everything. Curious if anyone has tested this in Sandbox yet.

I tried.

Changed description, applied changes and nothing.
Removed one permission, applied changes and nothing.

Seems like we have to recreate them.

Got it, thanks for trying it out.
Hopefully they update this, because recreating everything isn’t ideal.

Hello Lukas, the updater should have now updated all existing Custom User Levels to Entitlements; there was a slight delay with this process.

Thanks for the update Jeff. Does this mean a role containing this Custom User Level entitlement will work like any other role would?
