Clarification on permission property in Entitlement schema for SaaS connectors

I’m working on a SaaS connector in ISC and noticed that the entitlement schema includes a permission property. I couldn’t find detailed documentation on its exact purpose or how it is expected to be used within ISC.

Could someone clarify:

  1. What is the permission property in the entitlement schema used for?

  2. How does ISC handle this property in relation to entitlements?

  3. What kind of values can or should be returned in this field from the connector?

Hey Govind,

Take a look at this documentation: Managing Entitlements - SailPoint Identity Services

From it,

Permissions - Permissions represent individual units of read/write/admin access to a system. If you have direct or indirect permissions on your supported sources, they can be aggregated. Direct permissions are aggregated as entitlements, and are displayed on the directPermissions attribute on an account. Indirect permissions appear in the attributes of an entitlement.”

Hope this helps,

Dalton
