Hi @aavipou
Please refer below troubleshooting document:
Test connections fails with IQService installation on the new development Server
IQService configured port and IP should be allowed between the IIQ Server/VA and IQService host.
Resolution : IQService port (either Non-TLS or TLS) should be allowed via the firewall from the IdentityIQ Server or Virtual Appliance(VA) to the IQService to avoid the connection error with an IQService.
Failed to connect to IQService. Check TLS configuration for IQService.
Resolution : Ensure that:
The certificate is imported in the keystore which is getting referenced by IdentityIQ.
The communication has been established between IQService computer and IdentityIQ and verify that the DNS settings are correct.
The data for IQService Port field is added only when you select Use TLS for IQService checkbox.
(For Windows Operating System) TLS 1.2 is enabled under registry editor (regedit) on the server where IQService is installed.

This error means IIQ was able to reach IQService, but IQService failed while talking to the target system .
In simple terms, the connector tried to run an operation on the IQService host and something went wrong
Common causes to check:
IQService is running under a service account that does not have permission to access the target system (AD/DB/LDAP).
Wrong credentials configured in the application (especially bind user or service account).
Firewall or network access blocked from IQService server to the target.
IQService logs show an exception but IIQ only reports “Unexpected Error”.
What to do next (recommended):
Check IQService logs (IQService.log) on the Windows server — this is critical.
Verify the service account permissions used by IQService.
Test connectivity directly from the IQService server (LDAP bind / DB login).
Restart IQService after any config change.
Enable DEBUG logging for the connector if needed.
