Hello Team,

I would like to enable manual update for my tenant and for that am following Manual VA Updates - SailPoint Identity Services this URL.
I have few questions about this.

  1. If we enable Manual Update can disable it again ?
  2. To disable it again do we need to sign legal document ?
  3. If we enable manual update then we only need to use ISC to upgrade it or need to login VA to update any other componant ?

  1. Yes, it can be disabled again, but it is not a self-service setting. You would need to work with SailPoint to switch back to automatic updates. [documentat…lpoint.com], [developer…lpoint.com]

  2. Most likely yes. Since enabling manual updates requires signing additional legal documents and accepting responsibility for update management, SailPoint may require an updated agreement or formal request when reverting the configuration. Confirm this with your CSM or Support team.

  3. No VA login is normally required for routine updates. After manual update capability is enabled, updates are managed through the ISC UI where you choose when to apply available VA updates. The updates include the VA OS and SailPoint components running on the VA. [documentat…lpoint.com]

Recommendation: Contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) before enabling the feature to understand the rollback process, legal implications, and support requirements for your tenant.

Thank you @vikaspawar0303 for your response this helps me to take a decision additionally we submitted ticket with sailpoint to understand rollback process.

Hello Rohit. Welcome to the community :waving_hand:

Based on the official documentation:

  • Switching back to automatic updates is not documented, so please confirm the process with your CSM or SailPoint Support.

  • Enabling manual updates requires a signed addendum. Any paperwork required to disable it should also be confirmed with your CSM.

  • Updates are applied through Admin > Connections > Virtual Appliances > Apply Updates in ISC. This covers both the Flatcar Linux OS and SailPoint software, so no VA login is normally required.

I would recommend confirming the rollback process with your CSM before enabling manual updates.

Thank you Harish for your response and showing right direction, Ill connect with CSM to discuss about documentation and rollback option procedure. Once I have update and clear instruction ill post it here. Thank you.

this will help you to solve your problem.
