We are trying to upgrade from 8.4 to 8.4p2. In doing so, do we have to do a an upgrade to p1 first and then to p2 or is it okay if we do directly from 8.4->8.4p2

You can directly upgrade to P2. Upgrade from a GA version to any patch of the same version number, you only need to apply the target patch. This is for your reference

Patches are cumulative within versions So you can directly choose 8.4p2

Hi @ankeetarjyal,

Patches are cumulative so that you can apply the latest/desired patch directly from the respective version of GA.

For example:

  • If your current version is 8.4, you can upgrade to version 8.4p2.
  • Let’s say you want to upgrade from version 8.2.pX/8.3pX to 8.4p2. You must first upgrade to 8.4 GA (General Availability/Base Version) and then apply 8.4p2.
