New Capability: View Permission Paths Now Available for Campaign Reviewers

Problem

During a permissions-based campaign review, certifiers lack immediate visibility into how a user has obtained their access. To understand the full permission path for a user’s access, the reviewer must navigate away from the campaign review screen, making the certification process inefficient and time-consuming. There is a need to quickly view the source of permissions directly within the review interface.

New Capability

To streamline the review process, a new “View Permission Path” action has been added to the “Actions” column on the Campaign Review screen. This action, represented by an icon, will open a pop-up displaying the full permission path for the selected user’s access.

This feature will be conditionally available based on the following rules:

  • It will only be enabled for rows corresponding to User permissions.

  • For rows corresponding to Group permissions, the icon will be visible but disabled (greyed out).

  • This functionality will only be available within Permissions type campaigns.

This enhancement will allow reviewers to make more informed and efficient decisions without leaving the context of their review.

Solution

When a reviewer as been assigned a Campaign, simply login to DAS and navigate to My Tasks > Access Certification select desired Campaign and notice a new option under Actions

Simply click the Permission Path icon to open the User’s Permission Path overlay to see how the user is being granted permissions to the resource which also highlights if access is being used. Please note for best results regarding stale permissions, activity monitoring for the associated application should be enabled.
